Originally created in 2001 to service Own Label paint and colourcard management, we have provided proven tangible benefits to our clients, both retailers and brands for over 10 years

The business is designed to provide meaningful and measurable store support, bespoke to client requirements
Benchmark deploys to over 40 territories across the UK and Ireland, a team large enough to provide clients with the flexibility necessary to respond to varying retailer demands, whether promotional, seasonal or tactical

Benchmark is owned by the senior management who come from commercial backgrounds

  • Mark Alexander – Managing Director

Founded the company following 20 years sales and marketing experience, latterly as Sales Director of Ostendorf UK Ltd, Europe’s largest private label coatings manufacturer and Sales Director at Yale Security Products.

Mark has worked in all major trading sectors, DIY, Grocery and Trade at senior level and brings a commercial pragmatism to the business, being able to relate to clients’ issues and create financially efficient solutions.

  • Andrew Hulme – Operations Director

Andrew joined the company in 2003 on territory and was promoted through Northern Regional Manager, National Field Manager and to his current role on the Board in 2007.

Andrew’s experience of field based merchandising is unparalleled, he has detailed working knowledge of all major store systems and procedures and uses this to optimise call cycles, minimise inefficient use of time in stores and focus efforts where they make the most difference.

Andrew was previously in retail management for Powerhouse.

  • Andrew Marley – Account Director

Andrew joined the company shortly after it formed in June 2002 straight from university working on a territory in his native Leeds. Andrew quickly gained promotion to regional manager, a role which brought him South, and he divides his time between Leeds and London.

Since 2006, Andrew has run our accounts, providing them with all daily and ongoing contact, reports and project management

Andrew is particularly skilled at gaining an in depth understanding of a client’s needs and translating them into a cohesive and sensible work plan designed to deliver the right results in a measurable way.
