Craig & Rose is a long established manufacturer of high quality paints, with instantly recognisable brands such as 1829, Opulence and Cath Kidston. With a listing in over 300 B&Q stores, Craig & Rose wanted to maximise their sales in the estate, but had a limited budget available to deliver the results

Benchmark has been retained by Craig & Rose for over 9 years now, and has consistently driven sales in the B&Q account with innovative solutions tailored to their budget. Focusing on the Top 50 stores and ensuring the range was compliant to line plans and the stock database accurate every month, delivered strong core sales and protected the most valuable part of the B&Q estate. Then working in the lowest performing Warehouse format stores, we drove up the poorer performers to increasingly higher sales, thus always bringing the ATV up across the estate. Benchmark also pro-actively suggest and implement range re-flows to optimise the sales of key colours by season, ensuring the best colours have enough facings and are on the eye level shelves wherever possible.
Results
By ensuring the sales from the key stores are delivered, Craig & Rose knew they were taking advantage of every possible sale available in these stores, Historically, the database in multiple retailers suffers greatly from inaccuracies built over time by poor in-store practices, shrinkage and general stock database variances, Benchmark ensures the database is accurate and line plans compliant to maximise the sales per linear foot.
